About UsThe purpose of this project was to learn about how to calculate the surface area and volume of cube and tetrahedron. First we watched the movie, Between The Folds. Next we selected an origami design and researched how to create it. Then we created our first and final drafts. After that, we solved the surface area and volume of a cube or tetrahedron. I made a cube. Finally, we showed our work on our origami piece.

What I learned |
During the movie Between the Folds, I realized that almost everything is made out of folds. For example, the folds of your voice or the airbag in your car. Origami is the process of folding to create an object. I learned that making a cube is interesting because some pieces can turn into different things, like a rose. I determined the surface area of my cube by multiplying the length of the sides together, and then that number times six because a cube has six faces. I was determined how to solve the volume of my cube by multiplying the base times height times width together.

Reflection |
After completing this project, I feel really good about my math. The biggest challenge during this project was making the origami piece because sometimes I would fold it the wrong way, and it would not fit into a slot. The most fun part of this project was watching the documentary Between the Folds because I thought it was very cool. I think I did well on this project because I put effort into it. A part of this project I wish was different, is having to do the origami piece as homework because it doesn't seem like origami is equal to homework.
