Project DescriptionIn this project, we worked closely with some of the kindergarten and first grade teachers from HTe to develop a puppet show focused at teaching school rules and social skills. We developed short puppet stories centered around teaching students what they are struggling on in school. Each group also made a picture book and video of their performance as a gift to the class they worked with.

What are your contributions to the project?
I contributed to this project by helping to write, edit, and critique our puppet show story and script. I also was a puppeteer, and made two puppets, but we only used one in the show. I also contributed to making the rough draft of our picture book. We all pitched in to create the final product, which we are all satisfied with. What would you like to celebrate? I would like to celebrate that we worked so hard on this project, and it all paid off. Our puppet show was so great, because the children shouted, "Again!" I am also happy that we all cooperated with each other, for the most part. What challenges did you encounter? How did you overcome those challenges? The biggest challenge was when my puppet group realized that my character needed to raise her hand in the show, but had no hand, so I got frustrated when a group member was trying to force me into putting arms on my puppet. I did not want to and had no more supplies. But we made a compromise to switch characters with another puppet. How could we improve this project for the next group? We could improve this project for the next group by not having another project running at the same time in the same class because then you have double the homework, double the amount of keeping track of what and double the stress. This would be easier for me, and I am |
